Review the key understandings of building Coherence and its alignment to PDSA cycles. Consider the intent/purpose of a PDSA cycle and plan for actions that need to be taken at each stage (Plan, Do, Study, Act). Study Tier 1 and Tier 2 PDSA models to consider ways to schedule cycles across the year.
Participants will be introduced to the Community Schools strategy as a whole school improvement strategy aimed at eliminating opportunity gaps and reducing achievement gaps. The Community Schools strategy is the umbrella initiative that can help school communities achieve LAUSD priorities related to the Academic Excellence, Joy and Wellness, and Engagement and Collaboration Pillars.
The Community Schools Initiative (CSI) is SO much more than supports for student learning. CSI is about the learning itself. Community Schools are dedicated to making every classroom a place in which students encounter anti-racist, anti-bias, restorative, joy-filled environments so that they can fully participate and thrive while engaged in rigorous, relevant, and standards-centered, project- based learning. Come hear about the signature instructional practices and LAUSD initiatives that are integrated into the Community Schools classroom so that every student achieves.
