The "Three Reads Protocol (TRP)" is designed to engage students in the sense making of language rich math problems. It enages students in the importance of understanding math problems before trying to solve them. The "Three Reads Protocol" is connected to LAUSD Strategic Plan pillar "Academic Excellence & Engagement and Collaboration". TRP is also related to TLF 1.a.2Knowledge of Content-Related Pedagogy, 1.b.1 Awareness of Student's Skills, Knowledge, and Language Proficiency, TLF 3.b.2 Discussion Techniques and Student Participation. and PLF 3a.Professional Development.
