Supporting Student Well-Being: An Overview of the Student Mental Health and Wellness Services Branch

This workshop connects with the Joy and Wellness Pilar of the District's Strategic Plan.  It will provide a comprehensive overview of the Student Mental Health and Wellness Services (SMHWS) Branch. The session will delve into available student mental health services, including crisis team training, access to district clinics and Wellness Centers, and the new Student Digital Joy and Wellness Plan. Furthermore, attendees will learn about establishing no-cost partnerships at their school sites, the Wellness Policy and how to utilize the Student and Family Resource Line. The workshop will also highlight specific initiatives aimed at increasing mental health support for Black students through the BSAP Mental Health Consultants and other promising practices such as the MyCREW Club model. Finally, upcoming SMHWS events and training opportunities, such as the Youth Mental Health Symposium and suicide awareness training, will be announced.

The Medical Services Division is entrusted with supporting students’ physical health and monitoring their compliance with immunization requirements. This workshop will offer information about all immunization requirements as well as identify available services that benefit the whole child. Avoiding Pitfalls Leading AFRICAN AMERICAN & LATIN X Students Toward School Success & Beyond

This session will address systemic barriers to academic success by confronting bias, equity gaps, and low expectations through culturally responsive strategies. The breakout session "Addressing Reciprocal Communication and Conversation in PreK and TK Settings" will address Pillar 1: Academic Excellence and Priority 1: High-Quality Instruction by facilitating principal conversations around the expected knowledge and skills outlined in the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) Measure LLD4 and the California Preschool/Transitional Kindergarten Learning Foundations (PTKLF). Principals will observe practices, provide feedback, engage with curricular components, and use evidence-based instructional tools to advance teacher practice. Principals will analyze and identify key language for Standard 3 in the School Leadership Framework (SLF) and the Teaching and Learning Framework (TLF) that focuses on instruction.

Building Inclusive Recess Opportunities

This session will provide elementary leaders with tools to grow inclusive practices during recess and in turn, build time in the least restrictive environment (LRE) for students with disabilities and generate a more joyful school community. Supporting Student Well-Being: An Overview of the Student Mental Health and Wellness Services Branch

This workshop connects with the Joy and Wellness Pilar of the District's Strategic Plan.  It will provide a comprehensive overview of the Student Mental Health and Wellness Services (SMHWS) Branch. The session will delve into available student mental health services, including crisis team training, access to district clinics and Wellness Centers, and the new Student Digital Joy and Wellness Plan. Furthermore, attendees will learn about establishing no-cost partnerships at their school sites, the Wellness Policy and how to utilize the Student and Family Resource Line. The workshop will also highlight specific initiatives aimed at increasing mental health support for Black students through the BSAP Mental Health Consultants and other promising practices such as the MyCREW Club model. Finally, upcoming SMHWS events and training opportunities, such as the Youth Mental Health Symposium and suicide awareness training, will be announced.
